European scientists receive funding from Seventh EU Framework Programme to develop novel therapies for inflammation-associated cancer.
Jun 11, 2009A network of scientists led by the Foundation of Research & Technology - Hellas (FORTH), Greece, have been awarded a grant from the European Commission Seventh Framework Program, aiming to increase our understanding of how chronic inflammation in the body can lead to cancer. It is anticipated that this research program, code-named INFLA-CARE, for Inflammation and Cancer Research in Europe, will also lead to the development of novel approaches for the treatment and improved management of inflammation-associated malignancies, such as liver and colon cancer.
