HOW TO GET THERE

Heraklion is directly connected to Athens International Airport with about 10 domestic flights daily, run by Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines. There are also other direct scheduled airline connections from major European cities as well as many charter flights from most European countries.

Alternatively, one can use the ferry-boat connecting Heraklion with the harbour of Piraeus (Athens). Connection is offered by Minoan Lines, ANEK Lines & Superfast Ferries and the overnight trip takes about 7 hours.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTELS

Shuttle buses for transfer from the airport:

We kindly inform the ERAC attendees that on Wednesday, 4 June there will be a FREE shuttle-bus service for transportation from Heraklion "Nikos Kazantzakis" International airport to the city and Ammoudara hotels.

As soon as you arrive at the airport, please look for the host with the sign: "ERAC" to guide you to, or look for the coach with the "ERAC" sign, parked at the airport coach car-park in front of the arrivals exit.

Departure times from the airport have been re-scheduled for:
Wednesday, 4 June: 20:30 & 23:00

For arrivals outside these hours please use either the public bus service running frequently from the airport or take a taxi (average cost 18€).



Shuttle buses for transfer from city hotels to CANDIA MARIS:

Transportation to the CANDIA MARIS for attendees staying at the city hotels and Agapi Beach Hotel are scheduled to depart from the various hotels at the times listed below:

When you arrive at Heraklion airport, transfer to the hotels listed above is possible by:

  1. Public bus to Heraklion city and Ammoudara area
    The city bus stop is situated exactly opposite Heraklion Airport arrivals terminal and tickets can be purchased from the vending machine (orange colour) at the price of 1,10€ for Heraklion city and (blue colour) at the price of 1,50€ for Ammoudara area.
    Buses run very frequently to Heraklion town centre with the first bus starting at 06:15 and the last departing at 23:30.  Most buses have a GPS advising the name of each bus stop.
    The city bus stops directly outside the Capsis Astoria Hotel in Liberty Square “Eleftherias Square”, in Heraklion and the Candia Maris Resort & Spa and Agapi Beach Hotel in Ammoudara.
  1. Taxi
    The approximate fare from Heraklion Airport to Heraklion city is 10-12€ and to Ammoudara area (where the venue and Agapi Beach hotel are situated) is 18€.
