In June 2010 Professor Costas Fotakis, Director of IESL/FORTH, has been awarded the title of "Docteur Honoris Causa de l' Universite de la Mediterranee", Marseille, France. The respective official award ceremony, where the recipient was invited to give a short presentation of his scientific work, took place on November 18, 2010 during the "Journee Academique et Scientifique", organized by the Universite de la Mediterranee.
