The meeting took place within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed in 2019, focusing on the activities of the Computational Vision and Robotics Laboratory.

This year, the FORTH Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching "Vassilis XANTHOPOULOS - Stephanos PNEVMATIKOS" will be presented by H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou to Mr. Eleftherios Zouros, Emeritus Professor, Dept. of Biology, University of Crete.

A Training Workshop and Presentation of new educational and electronic tools for Marine Pollution Protection and formation of a strong Environmental Consciousness took place on Thursday, November 21st at 8.30 at FORTH, in the framework of the Sea4All project (Erasmus +): "Developing critical thinking in schools on issues concerning marine pollution using innovative technologies (ICT)".

The Hellenic Data Protection Authority, the Foundation for Research and Technology- Hellas (FORTH) and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) successfully organized a training session for high school students entitled “Protecting Our Personal Data- The GDPR and the 40 Thieves” which took place on Tuesday, November 5th at the SNFCC Book Tower.

The Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser of the Foundation for Research and Technology- Hellas (FORTH) and the Hellenic Society for Nanotechnology in Health Sciences (HSnanoHS) co-organize the first joint scientific conference on "Applied Nanotechnology in Health and Environmental Sciences, Safety, Quality and Efficiency - Regulatory Framework”.

An Open Scientific Speech will be given by Professor Gérard Mourou, who was honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics 2018. The event will be held at the Amphitheater of the Foundation for Research and Technology- Hellas on 20 May 2019 at 13.00.

The ceremony of the FORTH Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching "Vassilis XANTHOPOULOS - Stephanos PNEVMATIKOS" will be held at the main Hall of the old Parliament in Athens, on Νovember 29 2018, at 18.30 p.m.

The European Researchers’ Night is organized by the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) in its premises at Vassilika Vouton, Heraklion, on Friday September 28, 2018, 17:00-23:00.

FORTH honours the memory of Fotis Kafatos, almost a year since his passing, by organizing on 25 September the first in a series of annual Scientific Symposia.
