Successful Workshop on Cultural Heritage Imaging Techniques

A successful workshop, organized by FORTH, was held online on Friday, 1 October 2021, aiming to highlight how imaging, applied from a wide range of diverse perspectives, enables researchers and scholars to survey, monitor or even reveal structures and elements related to ancient life, archaeological and historical sites, monuments and objects of art.

The workshop was organized in the context of the project “Advancing Young Researchers’ Human Capital in Cutting Edge Technologies in the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and the Tackling of Societal Challenges”- ARCHERS), a major project implemented by FORTH with the exclusive donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

Through ARCHERS, over 100 young doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers have been supported over the past four and a half years and have carried out cutting-edge research in the Institutes of FORTH, across a broad range of interdisciplinary thematics, including preservation of cultural heritage and tackling of societal challenges such as environment, clean energy and health.
