The 159th Conference of the Presidents of the Greek Research Centers and Technological Institutions was held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, on the premises of FORTH, under the chairmanship of FORTH’s President, Prof. Nektarios Tavernarakis, who serves as Coordinator for the first semester of 2024.

The Conference was attended by the Deputy Minister of Development, responsible for Research and Innovation, Mr. Maximos Senetakis, the General Secretary for Research and Innovation, Prof. Athanasios Kyriazis, the Regional Governor of Crete, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis, and the Deputy Regional Governor of Liaison with Academic and Research Institutes, Mr. George Matalliotakis.

The issues discussed concern new job positions, the design and implementation of research policy measures, as well as relevant legislation, cooperation among Research Centers and Academic institutions, as well as upcoming developments in the field of education.

A meeting of the Heads of Administrative and Financial Services of the Research Centers was held in parallel, aiming at improving services and addressing common problems and challenges.
