A courtesy visit was held by the new Board of Directors of the Economic Chamber of Greece – Department of Eastern Crete (ECG/ECD) to FORTH in Heraklion, on Friday, October 17.

During the visit, representatives of the Chamber met and discussed with the President and members of FORTH’s Board of Directors, as well as representatives of its Institutes and Units, on topics of mutual interest. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the two institutions to promote scientific knowledge, innovation, and sustainable development — reinforcing the link between research, society, and the economy at local, regional, and national levels.

The meeting took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, reaffirming the mutual intention to strengthen ties and develop collaborations in areas of common interest. This cooperation builds upon the Memorandum of Understanding signed a year ago which aims to leverage combined scientific and professional expertise of both organizations in addressing key challenges impacting the country’s social and economic development.

Participants from the ECG/ECD included Mr. Stavros Sfakianakis, President; Mr. Nikos Mavromatakis, Vice President; Mr. Dimitris Angelidakis, Secretary General; and Mr. Giorgos Sarris, Board Member.
