The Center for eHealth Applications and Services of the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH received the GOLD Healthcare Business Award in the category ‘e-Health: Digital applications for the management/ support of health units’ for its Integrated Care SolutionsTM application suite.

The award relates to all the innovative and proven solutions developed by the Center that started to operate in a large number of units of the national health system in Greece already since 2000. They are the products of a long-term and ever-evolving, cutting-edge research carried out by FORTH over the last 30 years. They support the digital transformation of health by streamlining processes and workflows, while at the same time they contribute to the delivery of high quality services, better control of costs, provision of support to healthcare professionals, while they improve provided services to the citizen.

As the Head of the Center for eHealth Applications and Services, Mr. Dimitrios Katehakis stated: "During the past ten years we have all witnessed the digital transformation of the health sector. According to forecasts, this transformation will accelerate in the coming years. It is quite important that a small, highly gifted and hard-working team in our institute is in a position to actively help this country progress by creating products that are used, inter alia, in our national health system. FORTH has strongly supported the activity, which is today's Center for eHealth Applications and Services, over time, creating a unique business model within a top research center, as part of the Computational Biomedicine Lab within the Institute of Computer Science. This award gives us the strength to face new, greater challenges in the future”.
