Crete University Press (CUP) recently announced their new edition, "In Search of Memory: The Emergence of a New Science of Mind" by the Nobel prize recipient Eric R. Kandel, translated and edited by Azarias Karamanlidis, and featuring an introduction by Elias Kouvelas.

The book describes the history of memory biology along with autobiographical elements, given that the life of the writer has been interconnected with the study of the function of memory. The research related to the biological aspect of memory is probably one of the most important scientific efforts of the 20th century, and has contributed to more efficient therapeutic approaches of related pathologies, such as memory loss due to ageing.
