The Hellenic Bioinformatics Scientific Society and the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH) organized an International Conference entitled "Precision Medicine, Biodiversity and Genomic Biology" with the Region of Crete as co-organizing authority and sponsor. The Conference took place on October 11-13, 2019 at FORTH facilities, and was preceded, on October 10, by a training session of more than 40 young scientists, on cutting-edge bioinformatics analysis methods.

The aim of the conference was to bring together the research and scientific community in the fields of Biomedicine and Modern Biology, and address how they are influenced and evolved by the catalytic impact and contribution of Bioinformatics. Bioinformatics is a rapidly expanding cutting-edge scientific industry at the forefront of scientific innovation.

The conference brought together a number of eminent scientists of international prestige, who covered the three thematic areas of the conference which focused on cutting-edge research fields, in both academia and industry. The conference attracted more than 150 scientists from 16 countries, as it is a major event in the field of Biomedicine and Modern Biology.
