The Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics (IACM) of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH) organizes a 10-day summer school in Underwater Acoustics at FORTH (Heraklion, Crete) from 18 to 27 June 2008, in the framework of the Damocles project.

The summer school is mainly addressed to young researchers, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with interest in underwater acoustics and acoustical oceanography.

The number of participants in the summer school will be limited to 30. There will be no registration fee. On-line applications can be submitted until 10 February 2008. Selection of participants will follow and notification of acceptance will be sent by the end of February 2008.

Damocles is an integrated project supported by the European Union 6th Framework Program and aims at observing, understanding and quantifying climate changes in the Arctic.
